Despite a career-high 22 points from junior forward Brooks Allen, St. Thomas men’s basketball fell 91-80 to Denver Thursday at Schoenecker arena.

The pioneers dominated the second half, shooting 21-for-26 and making eight of nine 3-pointers.

When these two teams last met on Dec. 22, the Tommies narrowly lost 75-74 to the Pioneers on an alley-oop layup as time expired.

The Minnesota Timberwolves defeated the Memphis Grizzlies 119 to 114 Thursday.

Karl-Anthony Towns was on the Minnesota bench for half of the fourth quarter with five fouls, but D’angelo Russell took over and had 23 points in the fourth.

Towns added 22 points as the timberwolves evened out a season split of four games against the Grizzlies.
