The No. 5 St. Thomas men’s basketball team played its last MIAC and Division III game Sunday, beating Gustavus on the road 87-69.

Sunday’s win caps off an undefeated season for the Tommies and junior guard Anders Nelson surpassed 1000 career points.

The Division III NCAA Tournament is not happening this season because of a lack of participation from member schools.

the MIAC Presidents’ Council announced Wednesday that it will allow both 2020 fall sports and 2021 spring sports to compete during the spring semester, with shortened seasons for fall sports only.

The decision clears St. Thomas fall and spring sports to compete one last time against MIAC teams before the university transitions to Division I in the fall of 2021.

The WNBA and the players’ association have agreed to an opt-in process for this season’s draft.

Every eligible player who would like to make themselves available for the April draft must renounce their remaining intercollegiate eligibility.

In the past, players who have lost their college eligibility were automatically entered into the draft.
