The St. Thomas women’s soccer team took its sixth straight win, beating the St. Catherine University Wildcats 1-0 in their final regular season home game Wednesday at South Field.

Junior forward Tessa Trettel scored the Tommies’ only goal, leading the team with eight goals scored this season.

The Tommies, who have won or tied all their games in October, travel to St. Mary’s University in Winona for their final regular season game Saturday at 3:30 pm.

Tommiemedia’s Carly Noble hosted St. Thomas football in the locker room. The Tommies take on St. Olaf Saturday at 1:10 pm.

The Washington Nationals beat the Houston Astros in game seven of the major league baseball world series on Wednesday night at Minute Maid Park in Houston.

The Nationals beat the Astros 6-2, clinching their first World Series title in franchise history.
