The Los Angeles Dodgers beat the Atlanta Braves 4-3 Sunday night in the seventh and deciding game of the NLCS.
The Dodgers are set to face the Tampa Bay Rays Tuesday night in game one of the World Series.
The Dodgers overcame a 3-1 deficit in the NLCS, winning Sunday’s game on Cody Bellinger’s seventh-inning home run. The Dodgers have reached the World Series for the third time in four years. Neither team has announced its starting pitcher for Game 1, but ace’s Clayton Kershaw of the Dodgers and Tyler Glasnow of the Rays are lined up to throw.
The Minnesota Vikings lost to the Atlanta Falcons 40-to-23 Sunday. Both teams now have identical records of one win and five losses. Julio Jones returned from injury to catch two of Matt Ryan’s four touchdown passes, as the Falcons beat the Vikings for their first victory of the season — one week after the firing of head coach Dan Quinn.
The Vikings are not set to play again until Sunday, November 1 when they will face off against the Green Bay Packers.
In hockey news, Hall of Fame broadcaster Mike Emrick is retiring after a career of almost 50 years behind the microphone, including the past 15 as the voice of the NHL in the United States.
