The Minnesota Twins advanced to the playoffs for the first time in twenty-one years with a 2-0 win to sweep the Toronto Blue Jays.

The Twins advanced to play the defending World Series champion, the Astros. Game 1 of the best of five all division series is in Houston on Saturday.

Former NHL coach Kevin Constantine was suspended indefinitely by the Western Hockey League on Wednesday as coach of the Wenatchee Wild.

The major junior league said an independent investigation determined Constantine violated WHL regulations and policies by making what it called “derogatory comments of a discriminatory nature.”

St. Thomas volleyball will take on the University of Denver Pioneers tonight at the Shoenecker Arena.

The Tommies are four-to-ten overall and will continue summit play against Oral Roberts on Saturday for homecoming.
