St. Thomas sophomore Erik Nielsen suffered a brain aneurysm a little before noon Monday and is on life support at Hennepin County Medical Center, according to a university spokesman.
Jim Winterer, director of news services, said it is not clear where the aneurysm happened, but Nielsen was on campus and an ambulance transported him to HCMC. Winterer also said the aneurysm was not the result of trauma such as a fall.
A prayer service for Nielsen was held at 3 p.m. today in Florance Chapel.
My prayers are with him and his family.
We will keep Erik and his family in our prayers over at the law school too.
