Public Safety responded to a medical emergency in Scooter’s Friday night when a student collapsed during African Voice, an event sponsored by the African Nations Student Association.
Public Safety performed CPR on the student while waiting for the St. Paul Fire paramedics, according to Michael Barrett, manager of investigations. The paramedics then performed CPR and transported the student to the hospital, which was most likely Regions, Barrett said.
The student is alive and well. He is being treated and cared for, Barrett said.
“It was a good call, good response and good teamwork with the fire department,” Barrett said.
