St. Thomas junior Mark Langdon, 22, was found dead in his room Friday, Dec. 7, according to Director of Residence Life Aaron Macke.
Langdon was a resident of Flynn Hall. St. Thomas Public Safety is not releasing any information on the cause of death at this time, and Macke said he couldn’t either.
“I’m not going to say because we don’t know,” Macke said.
However, Doug Hennes, vice president of university and government relations, said students are safe on campus.
“We don’t think there are any safety concerns for students,” Hennes said.
Langdon was from Omaha and was majoring in political science, according to the St. Thomas Newsroom.
Macke and the Rev. Erich Rutten, chaplain and director of Campus Ministry, held a meeting for Flynn Hall residents Friday to inform them of Langdon’s death and told students campus counseling services are available.
Dean of Students Karen Lange notified Langdon’s classmates of his death through email.
