Summit Singers woo at-capacity crowd

The Summit Singers filled the O’Shaughnessy Educational Center auditorium Thursday night for their first winter concert.

“We saw ourselves as a music group first, but we saw ourselves as an organization second,” Summit Singers president Chad Berg said.

The show was one hour and included a cappella renditions of “I Don’t Want to Miss a Thing,” “Ave Maria,” “The 12 Days of Christmas” and more.

“It’s like ‘Pitch Perfect,’ but real life,” freshman Josh Surver said.

Junior Danny Glass, a Summit Singers member, said a lot of work went into planning the concert.

“It’s our vision coming together,” he said.

The group also presented President Julie Sullivan with an autographed photo to thank her for her support.

“They were fabulous … they are so entertaining,” Sullivan said.

Freshman Verene Burgin said the concert was filled with Christmas spirit.

“It was really pretty how they harmonized with all their voices … It was a good way to get us hyped up for finals,” Burgin said.
