The winter season won’t stop the Rollerblading Club from lacing up its blades. The new club, which started last fall, is rollerblading in the Metrodome to stay active.

On Feb. 15 at 1:11 a.m., Public Safety responded to a suspicious incident in Dowling Residence Hall. An unidentified male, reported to have entered the building through an exterior alarm door, could not be located upon officers’ search of DOW.
iPads, e-books replacing textbooks at St. Thomas?
Instead of simply receiving a congratulatory high-five during the march through the arches, incoming Tommie freshmen might be handed a shiny new iPad in future years.
Several colleges and universities around the country are giving freshmen iPads to replace textbooks as learning tools and, in some cases, to help cut costs.

On Feb. 8 at 3:18 p.m., Public Safety documented a medical that occurred outside of St. John Vianney. A UST guest reported they tripped and fell outside of SJV, receiving a facial injury as a result.
On Feb. 8 at 9:49 p.m., Public Safety responded to disorderly conduct in Morrison Hall. A UST student who was verbally abusive towards a UST employee was identified by officers.

On Jan. 31 at 4:43 p.m., Public Safety and St. Paul Fire Department Medics responded to a medical outside of Anderson Parking Facility. A UST student who fell and injured their ankle was transported by Medics to an area hospital for further medical attention.
On Feb. 1 at 9:53 p.m., Public Safety reported a suspicious incident in Morrison Hall. An underage UST student’s purse, turned in as found property, was found to have a fake ID.
St. Thomas senior, graduate become Winter Carnival royalty
Two St. Thomas students were part of the 2011 St. Paul Winter Carnival royal family.
This year’s West Wind princess crown belongs to senior Bridget Rissmann. 2008 graduate Madalyn Dosch was crowned the carnival’s Queen of the Snows.

On Jan. 24 at 12:39 p.m., Public Safety and the St. Paul Fire Department responded to an alarm in Owens Science Hall. Water leak flooded the basement of OWS, but resulted in no injuries or significant property damage.
On Jan. 24 at 1:50 p.m., Public Safety reported a burglary in Brady Residence Hall. A UST student reported their television was stolen from their secured residence.
Old friends skate together on new team
During a women’s hockey game Nov. 13 against Augsburg, freshmen Andrea Bishop and Lauren Mumm scored their first collegiate goals. It was only fitting since the two players have been playing hockey together since they were 6 years old.
