Despite leading by three points in the second quarter, the St. Thomas football team exploded offensively, scoring 29 unanswered points in a 32-6 home opener win over Michigan Tech Saturday at O’Shaughnessy Stadium. The St. Thomas baseball team split a doubleheader against Western Illinois University Friday, winning game one 4-1 then losing the second 11-1 at Koch Diamond.
Two touchdowns apiece by senior running back Nick Rice and sophomore running back Hope Adebayo propelled the St. Thomas football team to a 54-15 pounding of Presbyterian College Saturday at O’Shaughnessy Stadium.
Sophomore kicker Louis Hyde scored the lone points for the Tommies as they fell 44-3 to Northern Iowa on Saturday at the UNI-Dome. Cam Kauffman and Justin Amaker have the story and slideshow.
