St. Thomas men’s hockey beats Alaska-Fairbanks 3-2 with overtime goal

First-year goaltender Aaron Trotter blocked 34 out of 36 shots on goal and made a crucial save in overtime, giving first-year right wing Josh Eernisse the opportunity to score. The game-winning goal gave the St. Thomas men’s hockey team its first win this season as the Tommies defeated Alaska-Fairbanks 3-2 Saturday at St. Thomas Ice Arena.

Women’s basketball lost 67-57 to Idaho State, men’s basketball lost 72-65 to Montana State, women’s hockey lost 4-3 and 4-1 to the Lindenwood Lions, men’s hockey lost 6-1 to Michigan Tech, and the men and women’s track and field team will begin their D1 season on January 8th at Minnesota. Tommies men’s hockey lose 5-0 to No. 3 Mankato

After a 9-0 loss at Mankato Thursday, the St. Thomas men’s hockey team couldn’t quite get the win under their belt Saturday. The Tommies lost 5-0 to No. 3-ranked Minnesota State University-Mankato before a sold out crowd at St. Thomas Ice Arena in Mendota Heights.
