St. Thomas President Julie Sullivan announced the naming of the Morrison Family College of Health in an email Monday following a “landmark” eight-figure donation from Board of Trustees member John M. Morrison and his wife, Susan Schmid Morrison.
Housing selection process to favor underclassmen
St. Thomas Residence Hall Association announced in an email this November that it will reserve 150 more beds in on-campus housing for current first-year students returning for fall 2019. St. Thomas plans to move towards a two year on-campus residency requirement as they renovate and restructure campus housing in the next ten years.
Morrison Hall decked with inclusive signs
Signs reading “#MorrisonLOVES,” “Tommies Love Not Hate” and other sentiments about being one family decked the walls of Morrison Hall, but despite the hashtag, the goal wasn’t to bring attention on social media. Instead, they were intended to create an inclusive community on the university campus.

When Flynn and Morrison halls filled up, students who did not want to live in “freshman dorms” expressed frustration and looked to find housing solutions for next year.
