St. Thomas announced the official name and groundbreaking date for its STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts and math) complex in a Newsroom email to the St. Thomas community on Thursday, November 4, nearly two years after it introduced the project.

At St. Thomas, 23 percent of full-time engineering faculty are women, and female student enrollment in the program is about 15.6 this year.
Frederick Zimmerman, co-founder of the St. Thomas School of Engineering, recently received a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Minnesota Business magazine.
