Instead of travelling to St. Mary’s University Tuesday for the St. Thomas women’s hockey team’s season finale, the game was canceled due to COVID-19 protocols. The cancellation marks the end of a 6-2-0 season for the Tommies.
Junior goalie Eryn Cooley kept the St. Thomas women’s hockey team with the lead throughout the game, propelling the Tommies to win 3-0 against St. Mary’s University Sunday afternoon at Saint Thomas Ice Arena in their last home game of the season and as a Division III school.
In a back-and-forth battle, St. Thomas secured a 4-3 win against St. Mary’s thanks to senior forward Spencer Zwiener’s go-ahead goal, his second goal of the game, with just under five minutes left in the third period in the Tommies’ last home game as a Division III and MIAC member school.
