COVID-19 UPDATE: St. Thomas positive cases skyrocket to 80; university enters “quiet period”
Eighty positive COVID-19 cases were reported last week by the University of St. Thomas’ Center for Well-Being Monday, the highest total recorded all year and a 58-case increase from the previous week. Two positive cases came from employees and 78 came from students; two of the 80 cases were from the Minneapolis campus.
Committee formed for long-term principles in renaming campus structures
In response to information uncovered regarding Loras Hall’s namesake, a committee was formed to provide long-term principles guiding St. Thomas in renaming campus structures, St. Thomas President Julie Sullivan announced in an email Thursday. Sam Larson and Casey Eakins have the story.

Absentee voting poses challenges for some St. Thomas students
Many St. Thomas students have chosen to vote by mail instead of voting in person due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but for out-of-state students, that has always been the only option. Reporter Scout Mason has the story.
