Logan Crotty, Catholic studies and Spanish linguistics double major, 3.79 GPA
Crotty is from Maplewood, Minn. She has been a leader for Catholic Discovery Bible Studies (now called “Living the Word”), a co-founder of Catholic Women’s Night, and a resident adviser for two years. Crotty has also been involved in Student Alumni Council, Catholic Studies Leadership Interns and a variety of other service activities, such as volunteering with the missionaries of charity. She is currently studying abroad with the Catholic Studies Program in Rome.
Crotty said her greatest academic achievement would be her “sheer participation in the department of Catholic Studies. To be surrounded by such well-rounded, formed, intelligent individuals has pushed me to persevere intellectually in a way I never thought possible. With that, ordering my passionate love for language and channeling it for the good with the department of modern and classical languages has been a phenomenal gift.”
Crotty said an interesting fact about herself is her “not-so-secret dream of becoming a D-list star solely to participate in ABC’s Dancing with the Stars. I love to dance more than words can describe and would love to really learn ballroom from a trained professional.”
Before students graduate, Crotty said they should “spend ten minutes at least in the St. Thomas Aquinas chapel. Anyone and everyone can, and should. It is a place of sheer beauty and serenity. Find a time, a quiet time, when no others are around, and just be still.”
Crotty said she is unsure of her post-graduation plans.
“The Lord calls us all in different ways. He has placed such a variety of desires upon my heart that I am simply waiting in patience for further clarity. Who knows. I would be content in a service program in Latin America continuing my studies at the graduate level or settling in to take care of student loans,” she said. “With much discernment and prudence, I know that I will end up where (God) desires me to be. Trust is the name of the game.”
