Junior Nick Johnson has been a standout diver in his three years on the St. Thomas swimming and diving team, and he is the school record holder for six dives on three-meter.

Johnson is a leader among his teammates and brings a positive attitude to practice every day.

Coach Mark Dusbabek is proud of Johnson’s continued work ethic and success at St. Thomas.

“He doesn’t give up, he continues to try learning new dives, perfecting the ones that he has and then he has that work ethic that everybody should look up to,” Dusbabek said.

Johnson doesn’t care as much about setting records as he does about having a good time in the pool.

“It’s just fun to do; you jump off a board and see how many flips you can do before you hit the water,” Johnson said.

St. Thomas won the conference meet last season, and Johnson says he hopes to help his team repeat as MIAC champions.
