The Undergraduate Student Government approved an additional $21,336 in club budget requests at its meeting Sunday, March 14.
The allocations approved Sunday either weren’t approved in the previous week’s $88,000 in club budget allocations or were updated in light of new information received by the finance committee from clubs.
Brady Narloch, USG vice president for financial affairs, said all of the requests were reviewed with the same process.
“Everything is consistent except the date that they’re being approved,” he said.
With the new budget allocations, USG will give a total of about $109,000 to St. Thomas clubs and organizations this semester. That number is about $11,000 short of the $120,000 that USG budgeted for clubs and organizations.
Narloch said the remaining $11,000 in funds will be held in contingencies for special events or any additional club budget allocation requests.
“Some clubs might find that the allocation they received initially was insufficient,” Narloch said. “The $9,000 in remaining funds can be used for those clubs.”
