The Undergraduate Student Government endorsed a new student protest policy and approved more than $2,200 in budget requests at its final meeting of the academic year Sunday.

The new student protest policy was formulated by the Dean of Students office and presented before the general council for endorsement. The new policy will likely be implemented next fall and will establish guidelines for acceptable protesting on campus grounds. Check TommieMedia later this week for more policy details.

Students for Human Life received $478.47 to cover a budget shortfall after an event in February.

The Spanish Club received an additional budget allocation of $800.

The Knights of Columbus received $232 for two members to attend the Knights of Columbus State Convention in May.

The Neighborhood Civility Initiative received $700 in special requests funding to finance an event to encourage interaction between St. Thomas students and the surrounding neighbors.

The Golf Club received unanimous USG approval and is now an official St. Thomas club. The club hopes to bring students together for recreational golf in the St. Paul area.
